A Black Tie Wedding at Powerscourt Estate
Emily wore a timeless gown by Suzanne Neville, modern in its structure but unmistakably classic — a perfect match for the elegance of Powerscourt House. Pauric and the groomsmen wore tailored Tom Ford suits, leaning fully into the black tie aesthetic without tipping into formality for formality’s sake.
The bridesmaids wore soft-toned dresses by Birdy Grey, complementing the refined interiors and lush gardens of the estate. Accessories were minimal and luxurious, with Emily finishing her look in Aquazzura heels.
Black tie weddings photograph beautifully — clean lines, rich textures and a quiet sense of occasion that elevates every moment.
Pauric wore a beautifully tailored Tom Ford suit, a choice that perfectly matched the black tie elegance of the day. Known for sharp lines, luxurious fabrics and impeccable craftsmanship, the suit felt both timeless and modern — confident without being showy. Set against the grandeur of Powerscourt Estate, the look was refined, understated and effortlessly stylish, proving that classic tailoring will always photograph well, especially in such an iconic setting.
The ceremony took place at St Patrick’s Church in Enniskerry, a classic village church just moments from Powerscourt Estate. After the ceremony, Emily and Pauric made their way through the village in a duck egg blue Land Rover Defender, a detail that felt both playful and perfectly considered. The soft blue tones echoed the florals so seamlessly it felt intentional rather than styled — one of those small, joyful moments that added real personality to the day and photographed beautifully.
Why Powerscourt Estate Is One of Ireland’s Best Wedding Venues
Powerscourt Estate is renowned for good reason. It offers:
grand interiors filled with natural light
immaculately kept gardens ideal for relaxed portraits
panoramic Wicklow views
space, calm and flexibility — even on busy wedding days
For couples planning a Powerscourt Estate wedding, it’s ideal if you want elegance without stiffness. The venue never overwhelms the day — instead, it supports it, allowing the focus to stay where it should be: on the people and the moments.
Thoughtful Styling & A Relaxed Wedding Day
Planning and styling were led by Maria Dunne of The Event Design Company, and the result was refined without ever feeling overworked. Florals by Thomas of Floral Events Ireland added softness and movement, while stationery by US-based designer Jerry & Julep set the tone from the very beginning.
One of the things I loved most about this wedding was how calm it felt. There was no rushing, no forced moments — just space for the day to unfold naturally, which is always where the strongest photographs come from.
Music, Atmosphere & Celebration
Music played a central role throughout the day, with D-Strings providing ceremony and reception music before the evening celebrations kicked off with the WOW Party Band, who kept the dancefloor full late into the night.
For couples considering live music at their Powerscourt Estate wedding, this combination struck the perfect balance between elegance and energy.
Powerscourt Estate Wedding Photography
Emily and Pauric’s wedding was a perfect example of why Powerscourt Estate weddings work so well for natural, documentary-style photography. Beautiful light, thoughtful styling and a relaxed timeline allowed moments to unfold organically — unposed, unforced and full of feeling.
If you’re planning a Powerscourt Estate wedding and want photographs that feel timeless, stylish and honest, I’d love to hear about your plans.
